Experience Description
Your experience begins with a short countryside drive from Moose Jaw to Prairie Bee Meadery, where you’ll be welcomed into our space for an afternoon of good food, great company, and a little something different.
During the workshop, you’ll enjoy eight curated tasting bites paired with individual Prairie Bee meads. Each pairing is designed to highlight different elements of taste, aroma, texture, balance, and contrast.
Together, we’ll explore questions such as:
- Why do some food and drink pairings sing while others clash?
- How do sweetness, acidity, richness, spice, salt, and texture affect a pairing?
- What makes a pairing feel balanced?
- How can you use these ideas when cooking, hosting, or choosing beverages at home?
This is not a formal wine class. It is a warm, hosted, conversation-driven experience designed to help you discover flavour in a new way.
Each guest will also receive an experience journal to record tasting notes, pairing discoveries, and personal preferences for future reference.

Greg –
We were just at the mead pairing event and had a great time. The presentation about making mead was very interesting and Crystal was so informative it made the experience a knowledgeable event. She did a great job of explaining how pairing mead with different kinds of food can be a fun and satisfying experience. The food provided was delicious and there was more than enough to eat the flavours of mead presented were outstanding.
Most of all, the way she explained the different mead flavours and how to get the most from the tasting and to match the mead with different flavours of food was very easy to understand. She was very professional but at the same time full of fun and very friendly. She is obviously very passionate about making mead and sharing her knowledge and experience with her guests. I would recommend her presentation with anyone who wants to have a great afternoon, good food and great mead tasting to book her next event. Oh, and by the way you can stock up on many different flavours of mead before you leave.
Good job and I am looking forward to a tour of your brewing room soon.
